Cemetery Rules
BURIAL INFO
Regulations
1. St Peters Lutheran Church cemetery committee reserves the right to remove any and all flowers, wreaths or other decorations from plots as soon as they become unsightly.
2. Each grave will be allowed one flowerpot not to exceed 10 in width. All floral arrangements must be placed in a flower pot.
3. The location and installation of all monuments and memorials along with any other memorabilia items that will be placed on the burial plot by the family or others must be approved by the cemetery committee. This will also include all designs placed on monuments, memorials or any other memorabilia. The approval process will include submitting drawings showing details associated with the above to the Cemetery Committee for their approval prior to purchase and installation as per-Chap16.07 in our churches constitution.
4. In the event of cremation, two individuals may be buried on the same gravesite. Urns should be made of a synthetic resin type material, decay resistant. Placement of the Urns shall be under the direction of the Cemetery committee two to three feet below the frost line. It is understood the same rules apply regarding church membership and notification upon the death of a spouse.
5. All cemetery monuments and other approved memorials should be installed on an adequate concrete foundation system with a three inch wide perimeter outside of the monument on the sides and back and a ten inch wide edge on the front for the placement of a flower pot.
6. No statues, plastic flowers of any kind, open flame candles, eternal lights, balloons, shells, toys, , glassware, Christmas trees, decorations, permanent bushes or similar articles shall be placed upon any grave or lot, and if so placed, may removed without notice. Note that silk flowers and plastic Christmas wreaths are permissible.
7. No entry into cemetery grounds prior to 6:30 am or after dusk.
8. No Dogs Allowed in the cemetery (leashed or unleashed).
9. All permanent plantings shall be under the direction and control of the cemetery committee.
Seasonal Regulations
1. American flags or organization memorials may be placed on Veterans graves 1 week prior to and removed within 2 weeks after the following designated holidays: Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, and Veterans Day.
2. Summer decorations should be removed by Oct 1st for fall clean up.
3. Winter decoration wreaths should be removed by March 15th.
